Patatas Aborregas,
shepherd's potatoes

Patatas Aborregas / shepherd's potatoes, is a hearty side dish for beef or lamb.

Ingredients for Patatas Aborregas :

  • 3 or 4 large potatoes ( Patatas).
  • 3 tbs. chopped garlic.
  • 1 large onion.
  • 6 tbs. Mas Portell olive oil.
  • 1 tsp bittersweet La Chinata pimentón (paprika).
  • 3 tbs rosemary.


  • Preparation Instructions Patatas Aborregas:
    1. Peel and dice the Patatas.
    2. In an earthenware dish, fry the finely chopped onion and garlic with the rosemary in a little oil until golden.
    3. Add the potatoes and toss in the oil.
    4. Add the paprika and add enough water to cover the ingredients.
    5. Simmer until potatoes are cooked.

    Patatas Aborregas can be served with meats and covered in your favorite dressing.
